Socle Therapy & Learning
Preparing for work with confidence
At Socle Therapy & Learning, we support adults to build the communication, social, and life skills needed for further study and work after high school. Employment training through speech therapy focuses on goals of understanding workplace expectations, communicating clearly with coworkers, and developing greater independence in work settings. Our approach is practical, personalised, and centered on each person’s goals.

Building independence and real-world skills
Employment-focused speech therapy aims to help adults participate more confidently and independently in everyday work environments. This may include working towards roles such as:
- Working in a café or hospitality setting
- Reception or front-of-house roles
- Retail or customer service
- Office or administrative roles
- Any employment pathway the individual would like to explore

- Written communication skills for emails and resumes
- Understanding and using work-related vocabulary
- Asking for help or clarification appropriately
- Understanding non-verbal communication, such as body language, tone, and facial expressions
- Working as part of a team
- Confidence to communicate work-place problems

Support for study and training pathways
For individuals completing TAFE or other training courses, speech therapy can support:
- Working in a café or hospitality setting
- Reception or front-of-house roles
- Retail or customer service
- Office or administrative roles
- Any employment pathway the individual would like to explore
This support can help make learning environments more accessible and manageable.
A personalised approach
At Socle, we recognise that everyone’s employment goals and support needs are different. Therapy is tailored to the individual, with an aim to build skills that transfer beyond therapy sessions and into everyday life. If individuals or families would like support with employment-related communication goals, these can be discussed with a speech pathologist to explore what support may be helpful.
