Socle Therapy & Learning

Paediatric speech therapist Eastwood

Our bilingual team supports toddlers, preschoolers, and school-aged children with passion, dedication, and evidence-based knowledge.

Helping young people find their voice through speech pathology

Communication is a fundamental right and a pivotal part of each person’s life. That is why it is important we support children to develop and expand their communication abilities so they can build relationships, learn, and grow.

At Socle, we help children build their communication skills and confidence through play, connection, and evidence-based speech therapy. Our team also has bilingual support capabilities, also delivered by qualified speech pathologists at our Sydney speech clinic.

The little people
our speech language pathologists
care for

Our team provides thorough assessments and personalised therapy for children who may require added support with their communication development. Our speech therapists work with:

Toddlers

Speech and language development can be dynamic as toddlers move from babbling to stringing words into short sentences, understanding short phrases, and following simple instructions.

Preschoolers

Preschoolers begin to use and understand more complex communication, from understanding instructions to describing recent events.

School-aged children

School-aged children have evolving communication needs, including social skills for building friendships and learning to read and write.

What families often notice

Our team will address the difficulties your child is experiencing with care and compassion. We will carry out a comprehensive assessment to understand their abilities and challenges and develop a patient- and family-centred plan that targets their needs and goals with speech therapy sessions.

Areas we support include:

How we
work together

Our therapy services focus on warm, neuro-affirming, relationship-based therapy using play, natural interactions, and structured strategies. This aims to foster your child’s development and confidence, helping them to learn in a safe and welcoming environment.

Sessions are typically 45 minutes in length with flexible planning based on your child’s needs, including culturally responsive and bilingual therapy options. We encourage and welcome strong parent involvement during assessments, therapy, and home practice.

Frequently asked questions
about paediatric speech therapy

Sessions are usually 45 minutes weekly. However, this can be adjusted to 30 or 60 minutes, weekly or fortnightly, depending on the needs of your child and family.

Every child’s needs and goals are different. Your therapist will provide individualised advice and therapy options after initial assessments, to give you an idea of treatment duration.

Yes, we love to partner with you when supporting your child with any communication difficulties. After all, you know your child the best! Involving parents includes collaborative goal setting, regular discussions about progress, and welcoming you to sit in on each session. Depending on your child’s needs and goals, there may be home practice to undertake, which we will guide and support you with.

Our highly qualified team of speech pathologists offers therapy in several languages. These include English, Korean, Mandarin, and Tagalog. In many situations, a child will have similar difficulties in all languages they speak, so we will provide a thorough assessment and focus therapy accordingly.
Yes, we aim to help with difficulties regarding food and eating, which may point to various underlying factors we can work to address.

We are an NDIS registered provider. We see all clients who are self-managed and plan-managed, as well as Agency (NDIA)-managed clients who are over the age of 7. We can also provide assessment and progress reports that assist in NDIA review meetings.

We aim to support clients in ways that suit them best. Regardless of your child’s communication difficulties or communication skills, their sessions will be tailored to their needs. For a general look at our assessments, please watch our video that shows the assessment process.
Neuro-affirming therapy takes a strengths-based approach, valuing communication in all its forms and stages and prioritising autonomy and self-advocacy. This means we work together to develop functional goals that are meaningful and empowering to each child and their family.

Children thrive through problem-solving, flexibility, and fun. That is why play is fundamental to therapy because it uses a child’s natural motivation to explore and engage as a foundation to expand their speech, language, and learning.

By incorporating your child’s interests, we can deliver therapy that is rich in opportunities for targeting the areas they find challenging, such as turn-taking or vocabulary development.

Why choose Socle?

As a team of enthusiastic, skilled speech therapists, we promote client-centred and family-centred care with a neuro-affirming philosophy. Socle has delivered quality support to our community for over 15 years, and we look forward to doing so for many more.

Collaborative approach

We form strong partnerships with parents, teachers, educators, and other relevant professionals. Our goal is to work together so we can all help your child move forward.

Play-based therapy

Play is crucial for children’s learning and development. We utilise the power of play and combine it with evidence-based therapies to support children towards better communication, social interactions, and school readiness.

Bilingual speech pathology

Australia is a multi-cultural, multilingual country. However, many speech pathologists only speak English. That is why we are excited to provide speech and language therapy for speakers of English, Korean and Mandarin.
