Parent workshops Eastwood

Our clinicians run parent workshops that build understanding, confidence, and practical skills for supporting communication at home.

Supporting you to boost your child’s communication development at home

Our parent workshops are designed to give families clear, practical ways to support communication at home. Sessions focus on evidence-based language stimulation strategies for young children, including children with autism, language delays, and late talking. We focus on strategies that can be used during everyday interactions, such as play, routines, and shared activities.

Workshops prioritise approaches that are simple to understand and easy to apply. We focus on what makes functional differences, not just theory. Strategies are adaptable to different family situations and can be used consistently over time.

What do parent workshops look like?

Workshops are held in small group settings at our clinic, allowing time for explanation, discussion, and questions. Parents receive clear handouts that summarise key strategies, making it easy to revisit and apply ideas after the session. Therapists are more than happy to discuss individualised questions and to help with problem-solving any issues that arise.

Why attend a parent workshop?

Parent workshops are a helpful option for families who want guidance but cannot attend regular weekly sessions.

Workshops share important ideas and practical strategies in a small number of sessions.

Parents learn how to support communication during everyday activities at home.
For some families, workshops are a starting point. For others, they provide extra support between therapy blocks or when ongoing appointments are not possible. Workshops give parents useful tools they can use straight away at home.
